چکیده

The renal excretion of renin infused intravenously was studied in anesthetized rats. The renin in the urine was adsorbed onto DEAE cellulose and selectively eluted for separate assay on the rat blood pressure preparation. The influence of saline loading, furosemide, mercuric chloride, and maleic acid was determined by following the changes in renin excretion. Both mercuric chloride and maleic acid led to a sixfold increase in the amount of renin appearing in the urine. Among the various factors which might have led to this result, an effect on renal tubular reabsorption after glomerular filtration of the renin is the most likely. ADDITIONAL

Evaluating the effect of short ischemic periods on subsequent rat renal ischemic injury

Introduction: Using brief episodes of ischemia and reperfusion (IR) prior to a more sustained IR insult – ischemic preconditioning (IPC) – can reduce IR injury of the heart, brain and many other tissues. The purpose of present study was to investigate the effect of 2min ischemic periods on subsequent rat renal IR injury. Methods: Male rat's renal IR injury was investigated in a right nephrectom...

The effect of AT2 and Mas receptors antagonists on renal hemodynamic and excretory disorders induced by ischemia/reperfusion in male and female rats

Introduction: Renal ischemia-reperfusion (RIR) may disturb renin-angiotensin system components. In this study, the effects of Mas receptor (A779) and AT2 receptor (PD123319) antagonists were examined in RIR rats. Methods: Total 60 male and female Wistar rats were assigned into 10 groups (n=6 in each group), including sham-operated group, RIR groups treated with the vehicle, A779, PD123319, ...

Renin excretion in patients with renal disease.

The renal handling of renin was studied in normal subjects and in patients with predominant tubular and glomerular damage. The renin in plasma and urine was assayed in the blood pressure preparation of the rat. Excessive renin excretion occurred only in patients with proximal tubular dysfunction and was not related to creatinine clearance, proteinuria or plasma renin levels. However, a signific...

The effect of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells on renal function and histopathology in a rat model of ischemia-reperfusion induced acute kidney injury

Objective(s): It has been shown that adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSC) have protective effects in acute kidney injury (AKI). This study was conducted to assess the therapeutic effects of AD-MSC in rats subjected to acute kidney injury by 45 min of renal ischemia followed by 48 hr of reperfusion (I/R). Materials and Methods:...

Angiotensin II modulates glomerular capillary permselectivity in rat isolated perfused kidney.

Studies in experimental animals and humans have documented that inhibition of the renin-angiotensin system by angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors reduces urinary protein excretion rate and retards the development of renal injury. Here we sought to investigate whether angiotensin II (All) modified the size-selective properties to macromolecules of the glomerular capillary barrier in isolate...
